Through the Storm

IMG_3702

Most of the time when a storm is coming to our area, we receive warning. Weather alerts go out, breaking news reports inundate our social media pages, and because of that, we can start to prepare.

An unexpected storm however, can catch us off guard. Because we had no idea what was coming, we don’t feel prepared to handle it. The disciples went through something similar.

Without warning a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown.” Matthew 8:24-25

Just like Jesus was in the boat with the disciples the entire time, He is also with you and me when we encounter things we aren’t expecting. Don’t let the unexpected circumstances of life throw you off and shatter your faith. Be confident that Jesus is not only with you, but will see you through any storm.

  5. Good reminder Taryn. Thanks for posting this. There seems to “always” be something that has the potential to pull the rug out from underneath us, but every time we make a conscious decision to fix our eyes on God…voila. It works itself out. #sograteful

  6. Thank you, Pastor Taryn. Between this very timely reminder and your message from the DC Sisterhood event a couple weeks ago, I feel like you’re preaching directly to me. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Thank you!
