Take Heart

Have you ever felt like you have “lost heart”?  You have been living your life just fine.  Everything is going your way and then something happens.  A disappointment, a loss, a bigger-than-life challenge, a hurtful word, the boss, the friend, the kids, the husband, the dog, the plumber…SOMEONE does or says something that causes you to “lose heart”.  Fear, insecurity and the “I can’t do this” heart step up to plate.  Suddenly, you have lost hope and courage.  If you are reading this and you are breathing, then you have experienced this at some point in your life.  You may even be there right now.

Facing difficulty is a given in life.

Actually, it is an essential part of life.  If we let it, difficulty can make us stronger, wiser, and more courageous.  It makes our story richer and fuller. But here is the deal — it is a daily choice we make.  One of the keys to living a fulfilled life is realizing that the small and sometimes seemingly inconsequential choices we make in our hearts on a daily basis position us.  I believe it is the position of our heart that determines the projection of our life.  What happens in our heart affects every part of our life and the choices we make today, without a doubt, frame our tomorrow.

“I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Jesus (John 16:33)

In this season, TAKE HEART…do not lose it!  I do not know about you, but I have NO problem taking chocolate when it is handed to me and it is not very often that I lose it! How much more  intentional should we be in choosing to “take heart” and believe the truth that Jesus has already overcome the problems we face.  He has a  plan for our lives that has been intricately woven with his grace and lavished with His unconditional love.

Remember Beautiful, you become stronger not just doing what you know you CAN do, but by overcoming what you once thought you couldn’t do.

Choose today to TAKE HEART.

All my love,

Donna xoxo

  4. I love the chocolate analogy P.Donna! So true… when something good is handed to us (for free) how often do we turn it down?? We don’t! So it’s amazing that we ever second guess the glorious gifts God offers us daily. So good!

  5. Hey Pastor Donna! I love that there is a blog leading up to the BYC13 this year. This is a link that makes it easier for guys to spread the word as well. Instead of trying to say too many things, I can just be like, “I’ll send you this great blog about it!” This is good for guys.

  9. What a wonderful message, Pastor. Sometimes it’s easier to get discouraged and forget that doing so leads us down a rabbit hole of negativity. Instead, be brave, have faith – TAKE HEART! I love it!
