for a person under the sun than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy
will accompany them in their toil all the days of the life God has
given them under the sun.”
We are some busy women!
*The average married woman with children, whether she works outside the home or not, cooks about 25 meals a week, feeding an average of 3-6 people at every meal.
*The average single woman combined with volunteering in her local church works over 80 hours a week.
*The average woman can even think around 70,000 thoughts a day.
It’s hard to believe with some of the schedules we keep, that God wants us to party, but the verse above tells us just that. God knows we have to work, but He also knows it’s important for us to celebrate all our hard work and all we accomplish.
It’s not always possible to do it for very long and not very often, but it’s important that you do it. At DC Metro Church, we call it having a FUN DAY, really taking the Sabbath seriously.
*So eat out for a change or schedule a potluck with some friends. You might discover a new recipe to try.
*The ladies you serve with at church or even work with? Invite them out for a day enjoying an exhibit at the Smithsonian. A colleague might end up becoming a great friend.
*Instead of thinking 70,000 thoughts, take a ballroom dancing class. Nothing focuses your concentration like learning the Foxtrot.
Whatever it looks like for you, the point is to make it apart of your schedule and enjoy yourself!!
What can you do to have a fun day? Who in your world could you invite along to join you?
