The Power of a Cute T-Shirt

I signed up to be a Beautiful You volunteer for the T-shirt. Okay, it was really about the desire to touch one woman’s life in ways I may not even know…then the T-shirt! (Truth be told, I never realized there would be a cute “Hey Beautiful” topper for me to sport until I had been serving for several hours, but it was an added bonus).

When I attended my first Beautiful You Conference, it turned out to be a life changing experience. I served both days of the conference alongside some of the most amazing women in the world. In addition to volunteering together, we worshiped with one another, met so many new people, and heard some outrageously inspiring messages. When it was over, I wanted to run out of the building and immediately invite all my girlfriends (any woman for that matter) to attend the next Beautiful You event!

My Beautiful You experience didn’t end that day. Prior to the spring semester of Lifegroups starting at our church, I really felt God putting it on my heart to create a small group pertaining to Beautiful You and the conference. I prayed about it for quite some time and received a ton of positive feedback from the church leadership team. And that’s when the Coffee & Beautiful You life group was born. Our group comes together every Saturday to work on projects–big and small–for the Beautiful You Conference and the Beautiful You Nights. On the days we don’t have an upcoming project, we come together and discuss what is on our hearts and share our prayer needs with one another. For me, the Beautiful You conference isn’t just a weekend affair. I’ve tried to stretch the spirit of Beautiful You throughout the entire year…and you can, too! Interested in volunteering on a Beautiful You conference team? Let us know HERE.

simone-simpson-3Simone Simpson-Britton was born and raised in Woodbridge, Va., where she currently resides with her best friend and husband of 12 years and their 9-year-old daughter. She serves on the Beautiful You team and leads a BY conference prep life group at Capital City Church. Simone rarely leaves her house without a big jug of water (it’s her version of coffee) and a tube of Mary Kay Creme Lipstick in Rich Fig.
