Spotlight and Giveaway (!!!): Kilometer Sixty Six

“Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world. Indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.” —Margaret Mead

Mother’s Day is just around the corner (hello, conference weekend!), and if you’re like me you’re wondering what’s the perfect gift to get your Mom. I mean, really, what says thanks for giving me life, being my first friend, always wiping my nose, laughing at my jokes, introducing me to the world, defining beauty, always listening, always fixing, always loving…

Ummm… well, that’s a bit more than might fit in just one gift box BUT my wonderful friends at Kilometer Sixty Six may have something that comes close. What’s that you might ask?Kilometer66-3

Kilometer Sixty Six is a D.C. based company determined to create and source ethically made products that women actually like and can afford. On top of that, they’ve launched a line of scarves justfor Mother’s Day that are absolutely beautiful. Each scarf is exquisitely imprinted with a vibrant image captured from a country around the world.

And, get this, for every 12 scarves that are sold a disadvantaged woman in our community has the opportunity to go through their training to learn marketable skills for a brighter future. You can read more about their program here. I don’t know about you but that makes me want to go on a bit of a shopping spree. Join me, won’t you?

Get your orders in by midnight this Wednesday, April 1 in order to receive the beautiful gift at your doorstep in time for Mother’s Day. Go ahead and pick up something pretty for yourselves and the other wonderful ladies in your life while you’re at it.

To celebrate the AMAZING work that Kilometer Sixty Six is doing and because we think their beautiful scarves would look gorgeous on YOU we’re holding a giveaway on social media until tomorrow, Tuesday, March 31. In order to enter, tag Beautiful You (@bymovement on Facebook and Instagram) and Kilometer Sixty Six (@kilometer_66 onFacebook and Instagram) and tell us why you love Beautiful You Conference! Don’t forget to hashtag #bymovement. We’ll pick a winner and announce it on social media!

What better way to honor your mom on Mother’s Day than to gift her with something beautiful that also enables another woman a chance for a brighter future?
