Rememberance

Just a day after Veterans Day, we want to stop and say we are thankful for all the men and women who have served and who are currently serving in the military.  We are also thankful for the families who also make many sacrifices to support our military.

While we do not usually celebrate Veterans Day with the excitement and vigor as other holidays, it is no less important.  Many of us have known a veteran–grandparent, parent, sibling, or friend.  Many of us have been affected by past or current wars, even though we did not fight ourselves.  The day reminds us of all who have served in one capacity or another.

We all have a story of a veteran who has impacted our life in some way or another, and we want to hear yours!  Please share in the comments: Who is your favorite veteran (or current service member), and why?  Do you do anything special to thank them or remember their service?  If you could find one thing to do or say to express your appreciation, what would it be?

If you are participating in the November PhotoChallenge, today’s prompt is “I am thankful for…”  Please consider posting a picture of a veteran or current service member for one of the pictures you post today.
