Framing Your Year

Happy New Year Beautiful!

I was thinking about you this week, praying that 2014 would be beyond amazing, breath- taking, awe inspiring, purpose filled year…

Here’s a few things from my journal for 2014 I thought you might enjoy:

Look back to look forward– whether good or bad, there is “gold” in every moment you experienced last year.  If you haven’t already done it, take a moment to find it.  Then go ahead and record a list of all the “gold’ that filled every sweet AND difficult part of last year.  It will set a great foundation for what God has planned for you this year if you can SEE where he was last year.

Try new things – Don’t let the fear of what looked like failure last year keep you boxed in this year.  Trying and not succeeding is not failure, it’s part of the process of discovering what works.  Every new experience makes your world larger…practice courage as you step into new adventures.

Turn down the volume – determine to turn down the volume on your inner critic.  Become your own biggest cheerleader.  Tune into what God says about you and begin to declare it over your own life.  DAILY.

Look for God Encounters –.  Recognizing the nearness of God in everyday life will set your compass for this year on a trajectory of wonder and endless possibilities.

  • Invite God into your day every morning– ask God to help you be conscious of what he’s saying and doing daily.  His desire for relationship with you is immense, he’s just waiting for the invitation. (remember HE came from heaven to earth to be WITH us) Take the time to “practice his presence” this year.
  • Read the bible daily – whether it’s a verse a day or a bible reading plan, determine to let the word of God be the lense you see your journey through (the YouVersion app has a plethora of great reading plans of ALL kinds)
  • Get connected to church– go the next level in your commitment to the house of God, whether that means you’re going to attend weekly, find a life group, or start serving, life change always happens in the context of community.

Ok Beautiful…set your compass, unfurl your sails and get ready for your BEST year yet…

ALL my love,

Donna xoxo
