Dear Donna: How can I make the most of this season in my life?

We wanted to give our readers the opportunity to hear from Donna Pisani, the Founder and Leader of Beautiful You,  and ask her any questions they might have about their own journeys.  If you have a question you would like to pose, please email us at

BY Reader:  How can I make the most of this season in my life?

Donna: How you see the season you’re in is the key to how well you do life right now.  Are you savoring today, or anxiously awaiting tomorrow?  I want challenge you to embrace this season of life, whatever it looks like, single, married, mother of kids or divorced,  and resist the urge to hurry through it.  One of the best ways to do this is to not compare yourself with others and what their “season” looks like right now.  Learning to develop contentment right now and to not miss out on what God has for you in the here and now helps you to fully engage, and let God complete the work he has begun. Resolve to embrace your current season in life and maximize your time in it by fully engaging in it.

That means if I’m single, I am going to CHOOSE to be content right where I am and use this season to serve and do all the things that I can’t do if I’m married with kids.  If I am a mother of small kids, I need to fully engage and be present in this moment, enjoying every sweet moment along with every sleepless night….being on this end of the spectrum, life goes by TOO fast!

Choose to be content, engage God and find the treasure in THIS moment right where you are.  It’s all preparation for the next season…giving you muscles to handle what’s coming down the pike…

Be encouraged sweetheart…he began a good work, and WILL carry it to completion

All my love,

Donna xoxo

“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Phil 1:6

  1. That is so good…and the perfect reminder to me this morning as I woke up and just wanted to sleep the day away, caving from the task-list at hand. Thanks PDonna – I’m currently savoring the few minutes of quiet, drinking my oh-so-good vanilla shake, checking FB, and enjoying my new office while my toddler is fully embracing Barney (#intense). 🙂 It’s the little things, sometimes. #eventdc #bymovement @bymovement #dc #grateful

  2. “It’s all preparation for the next season…giving you muscles to handle what’s coming down the pike…” THAT is SO true! I’ve experienced this time and time again in my life. Of course, in the middle of a trying “season” it may not always feel good, but, with a different perspective (embracing it!), good will come!
